Awakening In The Garden

Consider that you are part of Nature. You might not think of yourself this way, but there’s no denying it really. And just as you find yourself separated from God, you also find yourself separated from Nature. Do you think there’s any difference really?

Consider that awakening to your connection with Nature might be extremely relevant to awakening to your connection with Spirit.

No, I mean take a moment to consider. Imagine all the things you’re doing right now to wall yourself off from Nature. How many of your actions also wall you off from Source?

Some say it’s impossible to awaken without reconnecting with Nature. Our natural state is oneness – with God and all life. That would include Nature.

Just think of it: you have to get to oneness with your brothers and sisters before you reach God. Now I’m suggesting you have to get to oneness with your plant and animal brothers and sisters too. Think you can do that?

I know you can. A long time ago, this is exactly how humans lived. One with plants and animals, one with the tribe, and one with God. We did this to survive. In a lot of respects, things worked better in those times.

My point is that just below the surface of you rests a very strong desire to connect with life around you. You may have a pet, or houseplants, or a garden. You may drive to be in the forest, hike in the wilderness, or lie on the beach. You may walk to the park or public garden. What do you think drives you?

To help you make the connection, I’ve just published a new ebook. It’s free. The title is “Learning Lessons: Gardening With Nature.” Check it out and please let me know what you think – both about the book and this persistent idea of really being one with Nature.
